Gear up for an autumn classic

-

It’s been a long time in the making, but good things come to those who wait… and it’s finally time for the classic world to reunite at one of the year’s highlight events.

The weekend of October 9-10 sees the return after Covid of the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show at Stafford showground, and after what seems a lifetime away the team is back and determined to bring you the very best of modern classic motorcycling.

Thinking it’s not quite ‘our’ era? Well top machinery is top machinery, and there’s plenty to appreciate plus some great guests too… and anyway, isn’t it just great to be back out and meeting-up again?

The event, backed by CBG’s sister title, celebrates the growing popularity of emerging and modern classics from the 1970s, 80s, 90s and even the noughties.

Taking place at the superb Staffordshire County Showground (you need ST18 0BD in your sat-nav) the event features more than 900 traders, dealers and autojumble stands offering a wealth of parts and spares for every project. There’s a host of excellent club stands, exciting live action, the Bonhams autumn sale, the GP Paddock which has classic competition machines, and special guest stars from iconic eras of motorcycling.

And what a main special guest there is… Michael Dunlop is set to take centre stage at the show. The 19-time TT race winner is the first rider to complete a lap of the most famous road racing course in the world in under 17 minutes, with an average speed of 134mph.

He is also the last member of the Dunlop quartet which has dominated road racing for more than 40 years.

Despite losing his uncle Joey, father Robert and elder brother William on the roads, Michael continues to race and is currently chasing Joey’s record of 26 TT wins. Fans will be able to hear from the man himself as he chats to TT commentator and former champion Steve Plater throughout the weekend.

Visit www.staffordclassicbikeshows. com for more. Tickets are on sale at an early bird price of £13 until October 4.
