CCM SET TO MOVE INTO EUROPEAN MARKETS WITH CASH BOOST
Bolton bike maker CCM has secured significant investment which will allow the company to sell its hugely successful Spitfire range across Europe and beyond.
A new partnership with North Westbased Pitalia Capital will enable CCM to invest further in new product development and embrace the pent-up demand for its bikes. With the company currently only offering the Spitfire range within the UK, the investment will help pay for European homologation to provide access to other key markets.
The Spitfire series has been the firm’s greatest retail success, featuring a range of scramblers, flat trackers, bobbers, and Carl Fogarty tribute machines. It’s hard to go to a bike night and not encounter the proud owner of one of the remarkable Spitfires.
14 new roles will be created as CCM bolsters the senior management team and recruits experienced design engineers and programme managers to support new projects, in addition to ambitious, talented people for roles in procurement and production assembly through to finishing,
PDI and logistics. Commenting on behalf of CCM, Austin Clews said: “I am so proud of my father’s achievements here at CCM.
“It’s been a true family affair, with three generations involved in driving the brand through its competition days towards becoming a well-known British icon in the world of bikes. We are really excited about the next stage of our journey which will see a new ambition to take CCM into international market.”
