MUSEUM LIVES AGAIN
Thousands of bike enthusiasts braved the wind and drizzle to attend the two-day Museum Live event at the National Motorcycle Museum.
The visitors took advantage of the opportunity to see the museum’s unrivalled collection of British classics free of charge, browse dozens of trade stands including Norton and Triumph motorcycles, and experience the thrill of full throttle startups of classic racers. The biggest attractions were the standing-room-only Stars On Stage events featuring Henry Cole, Allen Millyard, Guy ‘Skid’ Willison, John McGuinness and Peter Hickman, all hosted by Steve Plater. New Norton CEO, Dr Robert Hentschel, did the honours of choosing the winning ticket for the NMM summer raffle for a new Norton 961, donated by Norton. The raffle raised tens of thousands of pounds for the NMM, which was hit by Covid-19 closures and the subsequent denial of Government support. Due to the overwhelming success of the weekend, the NMM has announced that next year’s Museum Live will be another weekend spectacular, on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30, 2022.
