More rusty nuts advice

-

Loved this latest issue... and am minded to call it Sheen on Acid.

Me on my 90 and three mates on Honda SS50s travelled to hear Barry in a show in Ireland in the late 1960s when he was starting to rampage.

Then the article re: rust removal piqued my interest. Having run a manufacturing plant for years, we have helped hundreds of people restore their rusty iron. First, wire brush as much as possible from your item. Then, bring it to any Electro Plater.

Tell them to zinc plate the item, then immediately strip it of the zinc. This effectively removes rust. If you want, then have them Zinc plate it or just oil it for protection. We followed this process for many years and hundreds of bikes, cars and especially tractors now shine out.

Thanks, Paul, for that really useful info for those who want it to look more original, and really glad you enjoyed Barry – Matt
