Eye-catching feature
Way back in 1962/3 I owned a BSA C10L, my second bike crammed in between a Francis Barnet and a new Honda 50SS. I have not seen anything in various magazines about a C10L... until now!
Your feature on Jack Hough caught my attention and when I read it, low and behold his creation was based on a C10L.
It must have been the colour of the tank that caught my eye; my memory of mine was that it was a BSA green. I learned how to take the head off and re-seat the valves; a side valve engine was easier for a novice to work on... must have done it right as it took me from north Surrey to South Devon on holiday.
Clever man, Jack – long may he be able to wield a spanner (he’s only a year older than me). I’ve given up two wheels due to the dreaded arthritis in my hands.
Thanks for a good read every month.

Thanks, Ian, and Surrey to Devon on a C10L – you were made of stern stuff, sir! – Matt
