Protecting aluminium

Just a quick one. You mention lacquering of alloy parts (R100S rear brake lever). Which lacquer do you use, and does it last?

Chris, I cheat! My friend is regularly mixing up and spraying lacquer for other jobs, so small parts like that just go in the booth at the same time. Two-pack lacquer is hard (to protect the colour underneath), but on a foot pedal won’t last long, so you still need regular coatings of ACF50 corrosion protectant! Halfords did used to sell ‘wheel lacquer’ which was harder wearing; but I can’t find it in my local store. Good luck! – Matt
