Silkolene Silolube 20W-50

-

■ Silkolene.com – 4 litre between £20-£25

I cannot tell you which oil is best for your bike. I’m not getting into the argument of single weight versus multigrade. What I do know is that older engines and modern engines work best on different oils, designed for their age and requirements like air-cooling. This multigrade from Silkolene has been around for years, conforms with API SF/CC and will work as happily in my BSA as it does my BMW, built 30 years later. It’s also not expensive, though shop around, as Silkolene don’t seem to hold their stockists to a retail price – my local Fuchs lubricants dealer sells it cheaper than anywhere on the web. Save time changing 50W to 30W and vice versa and use the time to ride instead. It even comes in a nice, period can.
