When you don’t have a press, you pop and see a friend who has, normally with biscuits in hand by way of recompense. But it is useful having your own if you are rebuilding cranks, pushing in/out bushes, and even wheel bearings (especially cars) – it saves time and biscuits! Gear shafts, bearings and cranks should be fine with this and it takes up a fraction of the room. It’s a simple affair and comes with a dial and a couple of blocks, but more blocks and spacers are available separately; I would have liked to see more included for the price. Otherwise, my Clarke press lasted for years and was often asked to do much more than it should have been. A nice addition to the workshop.
