NH (Red Hunter)
347cc ohv single || 365lb || 70mpg || 75mph || 1945-58
A handsome working single, the Red Hunter is a simple, straightforward machine with few virtues or vices. The early bikes had Ariel’s unusual Anstey-link plunger suspension, which has its own challenges. The excellent swinging arm frame handles rather better. The single engines are all developments of a prewar design. Ariels were, like the AMC models, attractive to more mature riders and of a higher quality, and built to a higher standard than most.
