Bikers Paradise lost

-

We were deeply saddened to hear this month that Coventry-based clothing manufacturer and retailer Bikers Paradise is to close its doors for good.

Known for making and retailing some of the best bike gear around, Bikers Paradise has been trading since 1971.

A statement from the company said: “It is with an incredibly heavy heart that we have to announce that Bikers Paradise will be closing down. As most of you know by now, our founder Malc passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly in April 2021 and we have had the most challenging of times since then.

“Being such a small company, losing Malc was a massive blow to us, both professionally and personally. Despite immense hard work and dedication, it has become clear that we can no longer continue with this fantastic company due to unprecedented trading conditions and the rising cost of absolutely everything we buy to run this company going up and up, from the paper and ink in our printers to the leather skins from the tanneries. To add to this, our rent is being increased to a prohibitive amount and there is no cap on what the energy companies can charge us as a business, meaning our energy bills are being tripled. We know this will come as a shock to a lot of you, who have been loyally supporting us. We have had numerous pleas to keep going.

“It is breaking our hearts that the BP journey is coming to an end. If a company could survive on heart alone, we’d never have to close.

“We want to thank you, our passionate and loyal customers of many decades.

You have made this journey possible, and we know Malc and Alec, along with their wives Sheila and Anita, would want to thank you too.”

The remaining Bikers Paradise clothing stock is now for sale. No more stock is being made and choice will become increasingly limited. Visit www. bikersparadise.co.uk to see what is still available. We wish everyone at Bikers Paradise all the best.
