A dose of ‘90s nostalgia beckons at Stafford

-

The Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show at Stafford this month will go back to a decade that some of us might think was only yesterday.

A brand new hall, set up in association with Suzuki, will showcase the very best and most interesting future classics from the 1990s and early 2000s. You’ll find a mixture of clubs from the era and a display of individual, affordable bikes that you simply must consider for your garage.

Meet the editor of Classic Motorcycle Mechanics, Bertie Simmonds, on his own special stand where you can listen to some ‘90s music, play the PlayStation 1 against your mates and chat to Bertie about his magazines, Classic Motorcycle Mechanics and Classic Racer. He might even give you a free T-shirt if you subscribe – twist his arm. Niall Mackenzie’s 1992 Honda NR750, the oval piston racer built by Honda, will take centre stage with Niall’s other beauty, a 1999 Yamaha YZF-R7 OW-02. If you are a ‘90s rider, you can join in. Near the GP Paddock will be a ‘90s classic bike ride-in. If you own a classic bike from this decade, then 90 tickets per day are being given away for free entry to the show and space to park up inside the show itself. For the visitors, it’s a fantastic car park of real-world rides on display. To take part in the ‘90s ride-in, apply online at www.mortonsevents.co.uk/SO90entry for a ticket. Participants will need to be in the show by 11am and be able to stay until 3pm. Tickets are limited, so don’t delay. Taking place at the Staffordshire County Showground on October 15 and October 16, the event also features more than 900 traders, dealers, and autojumble stands offering a wealth of parts and spares for every project, as well as club stands, exciting live action, the Bonhams autumn sale, classic competition machines, and special guest stars.
