DAYS OF INNOVATION IN 2018

-

“My first meeting was at Amaroo Park in 1983, when John Surtees raced a Manx,” says Greg Dal Santo. Over the next three decades his father Ernie built him a succession of home-brewed, wickedlyfast Norton twins, and among Dal Santo’s favourite wins are two at Bathurst. He lost the impetus to race when Ernie died in 2010, but it all returned when he combined his love of enduro bikes and backyard technology. The result is the bike above, based on a copy of the Spanish Cobas Siroko frame with a Maico motocross engine. Unfortunately, it all came unstuck at FOS when a slower rider veered into his path, resulting in a bandaged knee and buckled bike.
