Brett Mahoney’s passion for Laverda borders on obsession. And he’s happy to admit it. “But it’s only an obsession with the triples,” he says. Every day Mahoney rode out on a different Laverda from his collection at FOS – and he regards this 1974 1000cc 3C as the most original. “It’s not 100% but it’s pretty close,” he said. How close? “In their original position the horns used to crack the oil radiator, so I’ve moved them,” he said. “Front brake hoses aren’t original because safety never takes a holiday. And the stainlesssteel mufflers are more free-flowing – it’s all about the noise.” They all sound like totally justifiable modifications to us!
