SIX OF THE BEST
With just 12 bikes among the fourwheeled offerings at the recent Historics sale, it was British iron that performed best. Four out of the six bikes sold were British and the top price was achieved by a lovely 1950 Norton 500T trials machine. Described as ‘in tremendous order’ by the vendor, it made £8064. A 1956 Royal Enfield Crusader – admittedly in excellent order, having been kept in the seller’s lounge for the last 12 months – punched above its weight to sell at £4032. Top performing non-brit proved to be a 1978 Kawasaki Z1-R – the Italian registered machine sold for £6272.
