US BEEZA GEEZER

- Mark Holmes

Many years ago, perhaps 30, I saw an ad for a BSA Gold Star in parts for $150, rushed there and bought it. It turned out to be a B33 (see below), so I started buying the missing bits and pieces and put the bike together – but only managed to take it for one ride before divorce raised its ugly head and I had to sell it and five more bikes.

Now my situation has changed for the better and I’m trying to track down these long-gone bikes. The one I really miss is the B25MX (see bottom – I know BSA didn’t make one, but I did). The first time I took it Vintage Class racing, a fellow rider saw me on it in practice and started counting out $100 bills. When he got to five, I said it was his, thinking I’d build another one some day (they were cheap and I had maybe $100 invested in this one).

I still have my old 1966 BSA 650 Thunderbolt which will be back on the road one of these days.
