‘SO MANY COME OVER THINKING IT’S A FIZZIE!’

-

I had a Suzuki AP50 when I was 16 – it was faster than Yamaha’s FS-1E. We all had mopeds like this. About eight years ago, I bought this 1977 model. It was in pretty much the condition it is now, but was red. I had a blue one as a teenager, and this one was still registered as blue on the logbook, so when the fuel tank got chipped I had it resprayed. Fizzies have levelled in value, but AP50S are getting ridiculous. I paid £2500 for this; now they’re over £5000, and still climbing. So many people come over and say they also had one when they were young – but that’s because they think it’s a Fizzie! IAN WILLIAMSON
