A guide to reaming valve guides

Reference this month’s ‘How To’ on page 151, I have been asked how much to ream out a new valve guide to give correct stem clearance. You ream it to the nominal size, here 9mm, because the clearance is machined on the new stem, usually around two thou. This ‘9mm’ valve is actually 8.95mm.
