4 TIME TO BRING ON THE 6mm ROD

The bracket outline gives you your first two rod bends to form the central part of the loop. With the mudguard cable-tied in place, decide the angle of bend you want in the rod, from the top of the 2mm plate bracket to the beginning of the curve over the mudguard. Cut this angle in card, then tape the card to the drill vice. Clamp a suitable length of 6mm rod. Use a closefitti­ng steel tube to bend the rod until it matches the card. Repeat for the other side, not forgetting to check how the bend matches the bracket.
