1970 CB750-K0
OWNER: Robert Watkins, Bromsgrove, West Midlands Robert (‘Wok’ to his mates) is one of a few CB750 owners here who have owned their bikes from new. “Back in 1968, I was into British bikes,” he says. “I really wanted to buy an eight-valve Triumph Metisse from Vale-onslow’s, but they couldn’t get hold of one. I got fed up of waiting for a Commando, too. Then the Honda CB750 came out, so I bought this one early in 1970.”
Wok did 50,000 miles before a gearbox bearing failed. “I repaired that,” he remembers. “But it went again. I finally got it back on the road in 2012. I had to get the frame repaired, too. It’s good to have it back.”
