WHAT’S A BSA FLEETSTAR THEN?
Well, it’s a slightly detuned version of the L-plate 250cc Starfire. The Fleetstar was aimed at customers such as the police and local authorities, with the model being produced from 1968 to 1970. The most obvious deviation from the Starfire is the valanced front mudguard and chromed tank, with a similar shell to the export Catalina Gold Star scrambler.
The Fleetstar shared the B25’s sturdy Mx-based frame and forks along with its punchy all-alloy engine. Later models adopted the oil-in-frame chassis of the Victor model.
