IS IT THE REAL DEAL?

-

Fortunately, fake 900SSS are rare because the 900SS frame is significantly different to the one used on Darmah and GTS models. Chain adjustment on the Darmah and GTS frames is via eccentrics at the swingarm spindle, while the genuine SS frame uses pull-block adjusters at the rear wheel spindle. For the first year of manufacture, the 900 used the 750SS frame and should be stamped DM750SS. From 1976 onwards, the frame numbers for 900SS models is prefixed DM860. Always go on the engine and frame numbers and look carefully for overstamped or restamped numbers. The numbers for 1974 750SS models are well documented and 1975 numbers carry on in sequence from the previous year.
