Eco-friendly painting facility

The Cantiere Rossini shipyard on Italy’s Adriatic coast opened its new repainting sheds on 18 September. The two identical sheds are entirely built in sustainably grown Alpine wood and have interior dimensions of 210ft (64m) in length by 72ft (22m) in width and with a 70ft 6in (21.5m) height. As well as “state-of-the-art” extraction systems for dust and solvents, both sheds are heavily insulated, meaning that they can be entirely heated by natural refrigerant, gas and sweater, leading to low energy consumption and zero Co2 emissions.
