Seeking Mike Saunders of Walkabout

-

I was wondering if you could help me? In 1980 I crewed on a yacht delivery from Hamble to Marbella in Spain. The skipper was a man called Mike Saunders, a quite exceptional man. He emigrated with his whole family, wife and four children, from Mozambique on an old 33ft wooden sailing boat called Walkabout. He wrote a book about their trip down the Mozambique channel, across the southern Atlantic ocean, the Caribbean islands, and ultimately to the UK, where I believe they all settled. I remember meeting his family, near Chichester were he lived at the time, when we departed from the Hamble river. I have been trying to re-establish contact with his family for a number of years but without luck. Very few people seem to know about him or his incredible adventure. I have been told many years ago that he had been ill and he might have passed away, but it would be great to talk to his children, if they are still in the UK, or anywhere else for that matter.
