The Classic Boat Museum in Cowes now has the boat that Sir Ben Ainslie and team raced in the last America’s Cup on show.

Britannia II is the AC75 that Ben raced as INEOS Team UK (which has become INEOS Britannia for the next Cup in Barcelona in 2024).

The British-led team took Britannia II – which drews gasps from onlookers when she was unveiled in Auckland in early 2021 for her radical styling, even among the other AC75s – to the final races of the Prada Cup, where they were beaten by the Italian team.

The 75ft (22.9m) boat has top speed of over 50 knots and it will join the museum's eclectic mix of 89 boats that also includes the original BAR T1 (Ben Ainslie Racing) America’s Cup foiling catamaran, used as a test bed for the 2017 Americas Cup in Bermuda, again given by Sir Ben and team to the museum in 2018.

Mark Mc Neil, Chairman of the Classic Boat Museum said: "Britannia II joins our wide range of historical breakthrough yachting exhibits and will be a significant addition to the Boat Shed, allowing the museum to showcase the history of the exciting development of foiling boats and the British America’s Cup story. I would like to thank the team at

INEOS Britannia for this amazing donation.”

Sir Ben Ainslie said: “Showcasing the historical legacy of the America’s Cup is one of the goals of the Classic Boat Museum and we are delighted to again support them by donating Britannia II, helping bring the America’s Cup story to life and leaving a legacy for the generations to come.”
