Ride ’em, sailor boy

I’m not sure this circa 1917 US Navy recruitment poster encouraged many to sign up. On the one hand the idea of a rodeo ride might seem appealing. On the other, would-be recruits may well have got the idea the navy was developing manned torpedoes, which could result in a navy career even shorter than the eight-second target for bull riding. This original poster made £380.
