Classic motorboats shoot the Caledonian
Members of the Classic Motor Boat Association (CMBA) enjoyed a three-day rally through the 54-mile Caledonian Canal in Scotland. The small-boat fleet comprised a Mk3 Albatross (Ford 100E side valve engine, Aquaplane head and twin carbs), an Albatross Continental (Coventry Climax engine), a Mk1 Delta (Ford 1500cc twin carb’ Kent engine), a 1970s Shakespeare Mini Clubman (50hp Mercury) and a Riva Super Rudy (220hp V8). The canal includes passages through Loch Lochy, Loch Oich, and the 24-mile-long Loch Ness. The event has been re-named the ‘Mike Tarry Caledonian Canal Run’ in memory of the CMBA’s founder who died in 2019.
