Some of Sumara’s noteworthy voyages

1991 Portland to St Katharine Docks, London – Sumara’s first sail with her new owner

1993 London to Dinan on the River Rance, France

1996 Chichester to Cape Verde Islands and across the pond to Barbados for Christmas

1997 Cruised the Caribbean. Entered the Antigua Classic Boat Regatta. Sailed back to Chichester single-handed.

1998 Chichester to the Risor Wooden Boat Festival in Norway and returned to Deptford, London

1999 London across the Bay of Biscay to the North Coast of Spain and back

2000 Saw in the Millenium moored under Tower Bridge, London. Then sailed to Risor Wooden Boat Festival, Norway

2002 Sailed from Deptford direct non-stop up the North Sea to the Lofoten Islands in Arctic Norway, then on to Bear Island, Spitsberge­n, Faroes and Scotland

2003 Scotland to London

2004 Sailed to the Risor Wooden Boat Festival and back

2005 Got neeped at Gweek 2006 London to Orkneys, Faroes, Iceland and Scotland

2007 Scotland via the West Coast of Ireland to London

2008 London to Denmark, through the Lymfjord to Risor Wooden Boat Festival, Norway and back to London

2010 London to Bergen, Norway. Then Shetlands and the West Coast of Scotland

2011 Scotland to Faroes. Then on to Jan Mayen, climbed the world’s most northerly volcano then sailed to Iceland. Attempted to get to Greenland but too much ice. Visited Westman Islands and returned to Scotland

2012 Entered the Scottish Islands Three Peaks Race, then sailed to Chichester, south coast

2017 Visited Amsterdam and Den Helder

2019 Refit at Johnson and Loftus Ullapool

2021 St Kilda

2022 Scotland to Faroes, then North Coast of Iceland. Failed to get to Scoresby Sund, Greenland. Returned to Scotland

2023 Sailed through the Caledonian Canal and down to Walton-on-theNaze before joining Will Stirling, on Integrity for a voyage through the North West Passage
