FORD PARTS HAUL SURFACES

2.5 tons of spares for a wide range of 1980s and 1990s blue oval cars

One man’s collection of classic Ford parts has been offered for sale in the CCW classifieds – and the entire lot could be yours for £6000.

The goldmine weighing two-and-ahalf-tons is based in North Lincolnshire, near Scunthorpe, and includes parts for Escorts, Cortinas and Sierras. It is all now available to buy, as owner Danny Horton has ran out of space to store them.

As they take up so much room, Danny is hoping to sell them as a single job lot. ‘I’ve built up this collection of bits since the 1980s,’ he says. ‘I’ve always been into Fords – I’ve had Escorts, Fiestas and Cortinas in the past.’

The collection contains new-old stock and other secondhand parts. It includes lights, panels and trim parts for Escorts, Sierras, Granadas and Mondeos. There are also brakes, clutches, light units, and dashboards for virtually any Ford made in the 1980s or early 1990s.

Modern classic Fords still have low values, which means expensive new parts can often render them uneconomical to repair. A new tranche of spares could lead to more bread-and-butter cars staying on the road, and making classic status.

‘I’ve no more room for the parts, and hopefully they can be of use to someone,’ adds Danny. ‘My stable is full of lights, trim and dashboards. I’ve got a crate full of assorted clutches. I’m looking for a collector or autojumbler to take the lot.’ 07770 384776 or 01724 645164
