CMC’S ACCENT ON SKILLS TRAINING
CMC will be putting emphasis on recruiting apprentices, according to operational board chairman, David Barzilay. ‘We have six apprentices who have been working in all aspects of CMC’s operations,’ he says. ‘ The idea is that they will work in the area of the company that most suits them – and they can finish their apprenticeship with a degree.’
He adds: ‘It is vital that we recruit more young people to learn traditional skills for the future. We hope to be taking on four apprentices a year in the near future. They could be school leavers or we would consider people in their early 20s.’
