HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD IT?

I found my final-year W-reg Mini Cooper in an online advertisement almost five years ago, back in August 2012. It was a private sale and I managed to get it for £4000. It had relatively low mileage and I particularly liked how original it was, right down to the floor mats and two sets of keys. However, as has always been the case with Minis, it turned out that it wasn’t quite as sound as it looked. So the following year, between May and August 2013, I had it restored using Heritage panels. We replaced the sills, floorpan, both front wings and A-panels, the scuttle, bootlid, rear arches and rear valance. After that it was given a respray in the original British Racing Green. I’d love to know what it’s worth now.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

The majority of the car’s history is there – all the services it has had, past MoTs, road tax history and bills for most of parts bought for it since 2000. All that paperwork confirms the car’s mileage at the indicated 54,000.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?

Hopefully nothing for a while, apart from getting it MoT’d and serviced every year. The Cooper is garaged and now only goes out in good weather.

HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?

As part of the restoration I added an original-spec black leather interior with embossed Mini Cooper logos and wood door cappings and gear knob.
