‘Other auctioneers must be wondering how ACA does it’
Two sales on consecutive days, with serious numbers filling both venues: Bonhams’ London to Brighton Veteran Car Run Sale; and Anglia Car Auctions’ year-ender.
In the recent past some have questioned the level of interest in veteran cars, but as this sale shows, year in, year out, their popularity, far from diminishing, is actually strengthening.
The following day saw ACA’s last sale of the year, and plenty of punters clearly didn’t want to miss out. A seriously big crowd was quite happy to put up with the bad weather, no doubt attracted by the number of lots and the variety on offer.
Such was the success of the sale, with around 85 per cent sold under the hammer, that other auctioneers must be wondering how ACA does it time after time, drawing in large crowds, but also getting so many cars away.
Whatever the magic ingredients are, ACA consistently scores with buyers and sellers, but as its sale and Bonhams the day before show, the right cars will always sell.
