Ol’ Blue Eyes’ Rolls for sale

Frank Sinatra’s luxury convertible could be yours for £125,000

-

A 1984 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible originally owned by Frank Sinatra is to go under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions’ Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery, sale on 10-11 November.

Estimated to fetch £105,000-125,000, the car was gifted to Sinatra on his 70th birthday by fellow singers Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin. The car remains in its original Mason Black paintwork and is unusual for having been specified with rear picnic tables. After five years of use, Frank gave the car to his assistant, Ingemar Fredriksson, who took the car to southern Spain after Sinatra’s death in 1998. Fredriksson later gave the car to the vendor, who has recently recommissioned the car after storing it for years as part payment for a house.

It’s claimed that more than £47k has been spent on the car between several UK Rolls-Royce specialists as part of this recommissioning with most of the work taking place on the car’s engine and hydraulic system. Silverstone Auctions’ classic car specialist, Arwel Richards, said: ‘Offering Ol’ Blue Eyes’ Rolls-Royce at auction for the first time in its history presents an amazing opportunity for film, music and car fans alike.

‘His music and films are still revered as some of the greatest of all time.’ silverstoneauctions.com
