HOW LONG HAVE YOU OWNED THE CAR?

I bought my pride and joy in May 2007. It had covered just 19,000 miles up to that date and I’ve only added another 6000 or so to that. It’s the top-of-the-range model, with the 160bhp 2.3-litre engine, four-wheel steering, auto

‘box and digital dashboard display.

The paintwork is totally original, the spare wheel and toolkit have never been used and the back seat never sat upon. It still has the original Honda radio/ cassette player and electric aerial.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

I have everything all the way back to the original sales invoice and pre-delivery inspection sheet. These days the Prelude is MoT’d, taxed, insured and serviced once a year, then put back in the garage.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?

My problem is that my classic insurance company will only insure it for £4000; they say they have nothing to compare it to. I showed photos of the car to Quentin Willson at The London Classic Car Show and he said that it was worth at least £12,000. In his words: ‘Where would you find another totally original one like this?’ I am 72 and my heath is not good, and my back is even worse. I have trouble getting in my car and look stupid trying to get out of it. I feel sorry for the old girl permanently stuck in my garage and think it is time to let somebody else enjoy her. Can you tell me if my car has any real value, and maybe the best place to sell it? HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED? The car is totally original.
