A Minor point to clear up

I’ve just been enjoying Nick Larkin’s article on the best cars built in Cowley ( CCW, 21 November), but the first thing that struck me was the photograph on the right-hand page.

The caption ‘Minors rolling off the line at Cowley’ struck me as being incorrect. Although the second vehicle in the second line does appear to be an early lowlight Minor, the majority of cars in the picture appear to be Morris Oxfords. Have I missed an early generation of Minors, or are they in fact Oxfords? It’s driving me mad.

With the exception of the ‘lowlight’ Minor they’re all MO-series Oxfords. Nick’s been banished to the corner of the office with some early BMC brochures – Ed.
