THE CCW VIEW
There are some who only see the Maestro when it comes to the Turbo, and the standard Maestro is still the butt of jokes. If you can see past this however, there’s a surprisingly fast and also comprehensive package to be had here, that is a Betamax of a John Hughes film in the glovebox away from being the most 1980s thing on the planet.
Thanks to their unenviable reputation, these cars are still undervalued, when you compare their performance to a MkII Golf GTI 16v or 1.9 205 GTi. We’d recommend buying one while you can, as collective memory of the Maestro’s reputation fades, the Maestro Turbo might finally be appreciated like it rightfully should be.
