1977 PORSCHE 911S

Swedish TV star Sofia Helin introducin­g the 1977 Porsche 911S driven by her character in hit Scandi-Noir series The Bridge saw it sell at Goodwood for £141,500 for WaterAid. An excellent example of TV provenance and charity fundraisin­g playing its part.

2014 LAND ROVER DEFENDER

An outing in the James Bond film Spectre resulted in a 2014 Defender selling for a whopping £365,500 at Goodwood in July.

1965 FORD LOTUS CORTINA

Being ex-Team Lotus and having been driven by Jim Clark saw a 1965 Lotus Cortina Mk1 make £191,900 during the Goodwood Festival of Speed sale.

1984 ROLLS-ROYCE CORNICHE

Frank Sinatra provenance saw this example achieve £140,625 at Silverston­e’s sale during the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery.

1958 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE

Silverston­e sold a UK-supplied RHD Bug was for £33,750 in Birmingham in November, but not all Beetles will fly to such heights. This one, restored on For the Love of Cars, was sold in aid of the Brain Tumour Research charity.
