Citroën’s centenary cavalcades
Citroën, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, needs your help in finding four classic models to appear at events across the country. Organiser, Philip Chidlow, is searching for a Type A, a Méhari GS and an SM to take part in parades, the earliest of which takes place next week (15-16 January) during Citroën UK’s dealer conference at the NEC in Birmingham.
Another convoy is scheduled for the London Classic Car Show on 14-17 February; both runs preview a much larger celebration of Citroën’s century as a car maker at Coombe Park (31 May-3 June).
Philip said: ‘Citroën UK has confirmed generous support for our centenary event, and we would like to reciprocate by providing as much assistance as we can for these two shows.’ Suggestions of other models are welcome: at the moment, a Traction Avant, Type H, 2CV, DS, BX, CX, Xsara Picasso and C4 Cactus have been sourced.
Complimentary passes, travelling expenses/transportation costs and hospitality will be provided at the NEC and London Classic Car Show, but owners will have pay for their own accommodation.
