HOW LONG HAVE YOU OWNED THE CAR?

I bought my MG privately in late 2011. I had wanted one of these V8 saloons for a while and went to look at two others before buying this one. At the time I lived in Birmingham and had noticed this particular ZT parked on someone’s driveway for quite a while. In the end, I took an unusual step (for me) and approached the owner. I said if you ever want to sell it please let me know, and four months later he gave me a call and the car was mine.

HOW MUCH HISTORY?

The ZT had only covered around 34,000 miles when I bought it, and that figure has even now only risen to 37,000. It is only used on special occasions and the car is kept garaged all year round. It came with partial service history, but that was balanced out by there being every receipt from new. Over my time of ownership it has had a few services, along with a pair of rear tyres. Brake fluid and coolant changes have been done, and it’s had fresh front brake discs and pads.

HAS IT BEEN MODIFIED?

No, it is completely original.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DO ON IT?

If I’m being picky, it would probably would benefit from restoration of the plastic headlamp covers, which are getting a bit cloudy, and it has a few minor stone chips on the bonnet. It is currently insured for £10,000 and I want to know if that is still about right.
