REMOTE BIDDING

-

The beauty of the internet means that remote bidding is much easier than it used to be and an increasing number of people are buying cars without actually seeing them beforehand. Being able to see pictures on the auctioneer’s website helps matters considerably but, if you can’t make it, contact the auctioneer to arrange for someone to give you a walkaround description; it’s never as good as being there, but it’s better than nothing. Remote bidding means either being on the telephone while the car’s coming under the hammer, or bidding online. Some bidders like the convenience of internet bidding, whereas others prefer the immediacy of the telephone and the fact that it brings you closer to the action. Remember that online bidding incurs an extra fee in addition to the usual buyer’s premium.
