This sale sees 166 classics going under the hammer, 25 of them at no reserve. Historics’ last sale at Ascot Racecourse attracted some 3000 punters over the three days, while 350 of the 800 registered bidders competed for cars from outside the UK. A headlining Lotus Elite with 1959 Le Mans practice (but not race provenance) is in component form. The Le Mans Classic-eligible jigsaw puzzle seeks a patient enthusiast with £45,00055,000. A barn-found 1966 Mini Cooper 1275S for restoratio­n will be a more affordable prospect at the £14,000-16,000 suggested. Guided at £11,000-15,000, a 1979 Austin Mini 1000 is claimed to have been driven only 2667 miles by one owner in 40 years…
