1961 AUSTIN MINI

It may not have had the kudos of being a 1959 car, but this perky 1961 car was reasonably smart in and out and had been sympathetically restored in the past four months, having been pulled out of a barn. Given a bare-metal re-paint the body was tidy (some patching had been carried out on the inner sills and in the boot) but otherwise it was smart and usable. The interior was tidy, if in need of a clean – and the engine bay was okay. Mechanically freshened-up and said to be ‘running sweetly’ it was a commendable offering.
