WHY I LOVE MY PEUGEOT 405
Mick owns a rare automatic saloon and this 1995 GTX turbodiesel estate.
He says: ‘I bought this one brand new from a local dealership. I always bought parts there and the salesman used to joke that one day I would actually buy a car from them, so he was surprised when I ordered this one.
‘It had to be a Fairway Green estate and I chose lots of options, including the ‘wood pack’ which is very rare on a 405; I’ve never seen another car with that option.
‘It’s still in mint condition, having only covered around 41,000 miles – mostly motorway driving and a few trips to Europe, including Italy.
‘The important thing is regular servicing and changing the cam belt on time; as a former mechanic, I do all the work myself.’
