Unique ‘30s MG could be yours
Last remaining D-type Midget Salonette offered following owner’s ‘fanatical’ recommissioning
The only known example of an early 1930s MG is for sale following a restoration to ‘fanatical’ standards.
As built, the D-type featured M-type mechanicals fitted on a lengthened C-type frame. This, the only Salonettebodied version, has been re-built to factory specification and finished in Duotone Oxford, with the idea of making the car look as it did when new, while also attempting to retain as much of the original fabric as possible.
Richard Biddulph of vendor, Vintage & Prestige of Northampton Ltd., said: ‘ The attention to detail is fantastic and it would be fair to describe the owner as “fanatical” as far as the standard of this restoration is concerned.’
The asking price is £68,000.
