RARE JENSEN C-V8s COME TO MARKET
Unique cabriolet and one of two manual MkIIIs ever made come up for sale
The only Jensen C-V8 convertible built, and one of two manual C-V8 MkIIIs in existence, are for sale at Classic Automobiles Worldwide in Petersfield, Hampshire.
Former foreign secretary, Lord Carrington, bought the 1965 convertible new and it has been in consistent use ever since, racking up 105,000 miles. The 1966 manual, however, is a project requiring total restoration, but is one of just two MkIIIs fitted with a manual gearbox, and one of nine manual C-V8s of all variants ever made. Both cars previously belonged to Jensen specialist, Andrew Cassar, who was a friend of the vendor prior to his death in 2019. Director, Anthony Bentley, said: ‘He was our Jensen guru and a friend; he saw the value in these cars long before anyone else did.
‘He was always finding cars and projects that were incredibly rare, including these.’
Classic Automobiles is looking for offers over £20,000 for the manual, while the convertible is listed as ‘price on application’.
