Jochen Rindt: Uncrowned King of Formula 1 £14.99
David Tremayne’s biography of Jochen Rindt is being re-printed in paperback ahead of the 50th anniversary of the Austrian’s death, having originally been published as a hardback in 2010. Being a paperback, this edition lacks the original’s ‘coffee table’ appeal and the images are limited to a glossy centre insert, but those who missed out on the first print run will be pleased to see it come back in a more affordable and far more compact form. As the only major autobiography of Rindt written by a native English writer, it’s also far more readable than the translated German biographies of F1’s only posthumous champion, and at 496 pages long, it does not struggle for content, either. Though written from an obvious British perspective, those not fluent in German should consider this a one-stop shop to learn of the Austrian’s remarkable, if tragically short career.
