Do press Escort XR3s survive?

Back in 1980 some £1,639,360 worth of red Ford Escort XR3s – registered TTW 1W through to TTW 320W – were driven in convoy along an unopened stretch of the M4 motorway. The occasion was a dealer visit to Ford’s Bridgend engine plant, where dealers drove them away as part of the XR3’s launch.

They do indeed. We tested ‘TTW 100W’ back in 2018, and in last week’s issue reported on one of them being part of a collection that’s currently up for sale – Ed.
