WHAT THE AUCTIONS ARE TELLING US

‘We’ve seen some falling sale rates after the official start of the recession, but a significant number of cars are still selling under the hammer at the moment – many people are still on furlough and the auction houses have never been busier – and more cars have been consigned to more sales than last year so there aren’t equivalent figures; the main market is for lower priced cars. We’ll see changes heading the next off-season – how things go at the Classic Motor Show in November will give us a strong indication.’
