HUMBER HAWK (1957-67)

WHY YOU’LL WANT ONE

-

It’s seriously underrated – and would go down a treat at most classic shows

My dream garage – where I stash all the classics that I would buy if room and funds allowed – grew by another space when this car sidled through a Mathewsons sale in March for just over £4k.

Humbers seem to be off the radar of a lot of classic fans – but this means that you can snap up one up for a fraction of what you’d pay for a Jaguar saloon of the same era. Yet you still get the same sort of restrained good looks – in this case, a unitary shell shared largely with the Super Snipe – and acres of room inside, finished off with plushly-trimmed benches – leather on Series Is, vinyl on later cars.
