BUYING TIPS

■ Look underneath. The bodywork may be all GRP but the underlying chassis – including the side rails and outriggers – can suffer from corrosion.

■ Get it warmed up on a test drive and look for any signs of overheating. Scimitars have a poor reputation for this, so check that the radiator and cooling fans are working properly.

■ Look for any crazing or cracks in the bodywork – they can be timeconsuming to rectify properly.
