HOW ARE CLASSIC CAR TOURS LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED?

-

Very little, because few classics can hold more than six people from different households. Classic Car Tours MK owner, Mike Kirk, said: ‘We have a tour planned for a fortnight in the borders, but we knew we couldn’t have groups of more than six in hotels anyway, so we’re not going to be affected.

Classic Travelling owner, Sarah Dowding, said: ‘We will have to plan comfort breaks and coffee stops very carefully, but the tour is still going ahead.

‘I’m not sure what it means for us, but everyone is in separate cars and separate rooms, and we follow hotel rules. We don’t drive in convoy and we don’t socialise in tables of more than four, so we’re hoping we can go ahead with a tour we have planned in October.’

Travel Destinations, which is based in Hertfordshire, is also pressing ahead with its plans. Director, Richard Webb, said: ‘ The safest place to be is in your car, and you don’t have more than six in a classic.

‘We have a tour to Scotland planned for later this month and it is going ahead.’
